Classic Izakaya Taste. Vegan-friendly. Ready in minutes.
Ever been to a Japanese izakaya? Izakaya are small, pub-like restaurants with private rooms that feature small dishes that pair well with various kinds of o-sake (alcoholic beverages). Addictive cabbage is an izakaya staple! Aromatic sesame oil harmonizes with umami-rich kombu dashi to bring out the natural flavor of the cabbage. Salt and garlic add a bit of a kick that makes it the perfect companion for a cold glass of beer! It's also a side for busy days when you need an extra veggie but are short on time.

Nice little side dish. Simple and easy to prepare. Tasty. Only change I made was to add just a little less oil than the recipe called for, mostly to cut the calories. It really doesn't need that much oil at all.
