Kinpira is a popular Japanese side dish made by stir-frying vegetables in oil and seasoning them with soy sauce and sugar. This recipe uses lots of carrots, so you can get plenty of beta-carotene in one delicious dish. Its beautiful color makes it a popular choice for bento boxes!

  • 8.5 oz carrot (240g)
  • 1 can tuna
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • two pinches sesame seeds

    Cut the carrots into thin strips.

    Heat the sesame oil in a pan and stir-fry the carrots.

    Once the carrots are tender, add the tuna, sugar, and soy sauce. Stir-fry for another minute.

    Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
