    1tsp potato starch (or cornstarch)

  • 1/8 of an onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 lettuce leaf
  • 2 tomato slices (thickly cut)
  • 2 pinches of salt (for the tomatoes)
  • 1 cheese slice (White American sandwich cheese slices or similar)
  • ketchup (to taste)
  • Japanese mayonnaise (to taste)
  • mustard (to taste)
  • vegetable oil (for frying)

DIRECTIONS

    Slice tomatoes thickly, place on paper towels, sprinkle with 2 pinches of salt, and pat dry. Wash lettuce and pat dry.

    Place onion slices into a plastic bag with the (A) ingredients (ground pork, starch, and seasonings). Knead well to mix.

    Heat oil in a skillet. Cut a corner of the bag and squeeze out the meat mixture, shaping it into a patty. Cover and cook over medium heat until browned.

    Flip, cover again, and cook until the other side is browned and the patty is fully cooked.

    Toast the bread lightly if desired. Spread with mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup. Layer lettuce and tomato slices.

    Place the cooked pork patty on top, add more ketchup, then the cheese slice, and finish with the other bread slice.

    Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and let rest for about 10 minutes before slicing in half.
