- 6 oz thinly sliced pork (pork belly or shoulder)
- 1 /2 onion, cut into 1/2-inch wedges
- 1 /2 pack maitake mushrooms
- 1 /2 pack shimeji mushrooms
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp. butter
- cooked rice, for serving
- A7 oz diced tomatoes
- A8 tbsp. milk
- A1 tbsp. sugar
- A1 tbsp. soy sauce
- A3 tbsp. ketchup
- A3 tbsp. tonkatsu sauce (or substitute with Worcestershire or brown sauce)
- A2 tsp. chicken bouillon granules

Cut the pork into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper. Separate the maitake and shimeji mushrooms, and slice the onion into 1/2-inch (1 cm) wedges.

In a deep skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the pork and onion, and cook for about 4 minutes until almost cooked through. Add the mushrooms and continue cooking for another 2 minutes.

Add all ingredients from (A) (tomatoes, milk, sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, tonkatsu sauce, and bouillon), mix well, and bring to a boil. Once it starts boiling, cover with a lid and simmer for 4–5 minutes.

・You can substitute pork with thinly sliced beef, or use your favorite mushrooms.
・After sautéing the ingredients, simply add the seasonings and simmer!
If substituting tonkatsu sauce with Worcestershire or brown sauce, add a little extra sugar to balance the flavor.
