- 3 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice
- 5 oz. beef steak
- 0.5 of an onion
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tsp. minced garlic(or garlic paste from a tube)
- A1 tbsp. soy sauce
- A1 tsp. chicken consommé powder
- 1 tbsp. salted butter
- salt and pepper, to taste
- chopped green onion, for topping
INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation
Thinly slice the garlic and remove the germ. Finely mince the onion.
- 1
Cut the beef steak into bite-sized pieces and thoroughly season with salt and pepper.

- 2
Add the olive oil to a frying pan and heat over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic. Once the garlic is golden brown, remove it to a plate.

- 3
Use the same frying pan, increase the heat to medium-high, and cook the beef steak. Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove it to a plate.

- 4
If the oil in the frying pan is low, add an additional 1 tsp. of olive oil (not included in the ingredients list). Add the garlic and onion and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.

- 5
Once the onion becomes tender, add the rice and drizzle the (A) ingredients (soy sauce and chicken consommé powder) over it.

- 6
Once the rice is coated, add the beef steak from Step 3 and the salted butter, mix, and adjust the flavor with salt and pepper.

- 7
Divide the fried rice into serving dishes and sprinkle with the fried garlic chips from Step 2 and chopped green onion.

About Me I live in Hyogo, Japan, with my eldest son, a high school senior, and my youngest, who loves white rice and sweets. Life is busy, but sitting down at the table together is one of our little everyday joys. I cook with the mindset of “one dish made with all my heart” rather than focusing on the number of dishes, making sure my boys are always satisfied with their meals. My Motto: Easy recipes you’ll want to make again and again I share dishes that are hearty and filling, perfect for growing kids and hungry men. They may be quick and simple, but I make sure they never look like shortcuts. I love incorporating my own tips and tricks to achieve that balance. If my recipes can make life a little easier for busy people, that would make me so happy.
