- 8 1/2 oz pre-salted mackerel fillets (about 1 pack)
- 1/2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- A2 tbsp. Hon-mirin
- A1 tbsp. sake (or dry white wine)
- A1 tbsp. white sesame seeds
- A1 tbsp. soy sauce

Cut the mackerel fillets in half.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the mackerel skin-side down and cook for about 4 minutes, until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side over low heat for 2 more minutes.

Add the ingredients from A (mirin, sake, sesame seeds, and soy sauce) to the pan. Increase to medium heat and simmer for about 1 minute, gently coating the fish with the sauce.
