They’re soft and delicious thanks to the tofu, and much cheaper to make at home than buying store-bought ones.

- 7 oz boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 5 oz firm tofu
- 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp. potato starch (or cornstarch)
- 2 tbsp. Japanese mayonnaise
- 1/2 tbsp. chicken bouillon powder
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. garlic paste
- salt and pepper, to taste
- vegetable oil, as needed (for shallow frying)

Wrap the tofu in a paper towel and gently squeeze to remove any excess moisture.- 1
Add the chicken (skin removed) and tofu to a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
If you don't have a food processor, finely mince the chicken by hand.

Transfer the chicken to a bowl. Add the flour, potato starch, Japanese mayonnaise, chicken bouillon powder, soy sauce, garlic paste,salt, and pepper. Mix well. The mixture will be quite soft.

Pour oil into a frying pan so that it is about 1/2 inch deep. Scoop up the mixture with a spoon and gently shape it into nuggets as you drop it into the oil. Shallow-fry over medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips & Notes
You can use chicken breast, thighs, ground chicken, or tenderloin.
Remove any skin from the chicken, and if using tenderloin, remove the tendon.
The mixture is soft, so use a spoon to shape and place the nuggets into oil when frying.
